Getting Started

If you’ve attended the scrapbooking workshop, hosted by your Close To My Heart Consultant, you’ll already have the necessary products required to create the featured layout. If you haven’t attended the workshop and would like to create the artwork shown here, contact your Consultant to order the supplies.

To create the featured layout, follow the helpful hints outlined below and the assembly instructions found in our how-to book Cherish™. If you did not attend the workshop and do not have the featured stamp set, use an alternate stamp set or talk with your Consultant about how to purchase this exclusive stamp set. Your Consultant can offer you additional help with this and other great projects and show you our full line of high quality scrapbooking and cardmaking products.

• Cut the papers according to the cutting diagrams on page 43 of Cherish™ excluding the title and journal pieces on the left page. Also, make the following cuts: one 2” x 5” dots B&T Duos® paper (back side, for title); one 12” x 12” gift box B&T paper (back side, for large circle, left page); two 3/4” x 12” gift box B&T papers (adhered to pieces B and G); two 4 1/2” x 6 1/2” Tulip cardstock pieces (mats for Photos 2); one 6” x 6” White Daisy cardstock piece (for circle, left page); one 6” x 6” gift box B&T paper (back side, for circle, right page); one 3” x 6” White Daisy cardstock (for stamped gift boxes accent pieces). (Note: The circles are created by tracing a Dimensional Elements circle on the multi-colored side and cutting along your trace marks.)
• Using Tulip ink, create a title on the 2” x 5” dots B&T paper. Cut out each letter.
  
• Using Tulip and Crème Brulee inks, stamp five gift box images and their coordinating embellishments on the 3" x 6" White Daisy cardstock. Also, stamp the “for you” sentiment twice and the “good times” sentiment once. Cut-out each image.

• Using a texture tool of choice, lightly apply Tulip ink to the cut-out images.
• Using Tulip ink, stamp the dotted line horizontally along the top half of the journaling piece.

• Using the scissor distressing technique, rough the edges of pieces B and G, the three photo mats, the title piece, the journaling piece, and the “good times” sentiment.
• Attach the 3/4" x 12" gift box B&T papers to pieces B and G, centered.
• Attach the largest B&T circle to the largest Dimensional Element. Attach the White Daisy circle behind the corresponding Dimensional Element.
• Assemble the layout according to the instructions on page 42 but do not attach the photos mats or journaling piece yet.
• Cut a 13” piece of ribbon and attach along the right side of the left page, placing it 1” from the right edge. Cut two 3” pieces of ribbon, tie each in a knot, and attach along the 13” piece of ribbon.
• Attach the cut-out gift boxes and "for you" sentiment along the top left side of piece A and on the journaling piece.
  
• Using Tulip ink, stamp the “you’re something special” sentiment above piece A on the cardstock base. Stamp the zigzag line in the top left corner of the left page and the top right corner of the right page.
• Cut a 1 1/2” piece of ribbon and attach down the center of the largest gift box on the journaling piece. Cut a 3” piece of ribbon, tie in a knot, and attach to the top of the 1 1/2” piece of ribbon.
• Attach the Dimensional Elements circles to the left page. Add the title to the White Daisy circle.
• Attach the cut-out Olive B&T circle to the right page. Attach the photos mats and journaling piece. Attach the “good times” sentiment behind the top photo mat on the right page.
• Attach the Twinkle Brads, as desired.
